ISRN along with Divine International and Aranya ECO- NGO organised a dialogue on River Interlinking in the backdrop of an ambitious mega scale project of Government of India that aims to link Indian rivers by a network of reservoirs and canals.

Orientation Programme on CSR for Voluntary Organizations

The program enabled participants through a deeper understanding of strategies for ‘result-oriented CSR’ such as measures to plan and implement CSR efficiently , clarity on the legal compliance of the Companies Act,2013 and NGO-corporate linkage.

Consultation on “How Tripura Can Contribute to Build New India?”​

The consultation facilitated discussion on an array of issues that included state heritage, culture, skill development, women centric self-employment activities, natural resources etc. and how this can contribute to state’s economy. Over 30 participants were present in the consultation meet held on 1st April 2019 at Mini Conference Hall, Nazrul Kalakhetra, NSD Building in Tripura’s capital, Agartala.

ISRN – Sphere India Round Table Consultation with Corporate on “Strengthening Networks On Disaster Management: Engaging Private Sector for Coordinated Disaster Management”

ISRN, in collaboration with Sphere India, organized a Round Table Consultation on “Strengthening Networks On Disaster Management: Engaging Private Sector for Coordinated Disaster Management” on 20th February 2015. Hosted at Sphere India’s office, the session aimed to promote corporate engagement in disaster preparedness, response, and mitigation. Recognizing that disasters impact communities, infrastructure, and livelihoods, the event brought together over 50 participants—including corporate leaders, network representatives, and humanitarian agencies—to explore how businesses can support disaster management through financial aid, resources, and expertise in sectors like health, logistics, education, and communication. Key objectives included: Sharing successful corporate-humanitarian collaborations Identifying synergy among companies offering disaster support Co-creating a roadmap for multi-stakeholder engagement and planning The consultation concluded with an initial framework to enhance corporate participation in disaster response mechanisms and strengthen collaborative efforts nationwide.

Dialogue on Role of Voluntary Organizations in Environment Protection & Climate Change

In collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), the Indian Social Responsibility Network (ISRN) hosted a national dialogue on “Role of Voluntary Organizations in Environment Protection and Climate Change” on 13 April 2015 at Paryavaran Bhawan, New Delhi. The session was chaired by Hon’ble Union Environment Minister Shri Prakash Javadekar, and saw participation from over 125 representatives of voluntary organizations across 11 states. This landmark event served as a platform for voluntary organizations (VOs) to engage directly with the ministry, share their field experiences, and understand key government schemes, including the Climate Change Action Programme (CCAP). Experts and senior officials from MoEFCC highlighted the critical role of VOs in climate advocacy, grassroots implementation, participatory forestry, and environmental research. Key outcomes included the ministry’s intent to collaborate with VOs in four key areas: Community awareness and environmental education On-ground implementation of climate and conservation projects Exclusive work on climate change Environmental research The dialogue, coordinated by ISRN and its leadership, reinforced the ministry’s commitment to strengthening civil society partnerships for a sustainable future.

A Dialogue on ‘Developing and Upscaling Khadi and Village Based Industries: Emerging Role of Voluntary Organizations”

In 2016, the Indian Social Responsibility Network (ISRN) collaborated with Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini (RMP) and Khadi & Village Industries Commission (KVIC) to organize a one-day dialogue on “Developing and Upscaling Khadi & Village Based Industries: Emerging Role of Voluntary Organizations” at RMP’s Thane campus. The program brought together over 30 grassroots NGOs, many affiliated with Rashtriya Sewa Bharati, to explore how they can contribute to rural enterprise initiatives under key schemes like PMEGP and SFURTI. Eminent speakers including Shri Vinai Kumar Saxena (KVIC), Shri Ravindra Sathe (Executive Director, RMP), and Shri Ashok Bhagat (Founder Secretary, Vikas Bharti) addressed the participants. Technical sessions covered opportunities in beekeeping, solar charkha, and Neera products as employment generators. ISRN played a key facilitative role in strengthening the dialogue between KVIC and voluntary organizations, promoting greater grassroots involvement in rural economic development.
